Reporters yesterday in Hebei Tonghui Science and Technology Co.,Ltd.,located in Handan New Material Industry Base of the National Torch Plan,saw that the continuous basalt fibers produced by the company were successfully applied in the national"863"project,the domestic carbon fiber composite core conductor project,and the key indicators such as the high temperature tensile force of the conductor and the resistance to damage of the composite core produced by the company.This indicates that the history of China's dependence on imports of high-end cable materials is expected to end.Dai Cunwu,head of Tonghui Science and Technology Project,told reporters that at present,there are about 15 continuous basalt fiber production lines in the world,which can produce less than 10000 tons,and China's production capacity accounts for about 4000 tons.In November 2009,Hebei Tonghui Science and Technology cooperated with Sichuan Aerospace Tuoxin Basalt Industry Co.,Ltd.,which belongs to China Aerospace Science and Technology Group.By the end of 2010,the first phase of 1000 tons/year continuous basalt fiber production line with a total investment of 87 million yuan was put into full operation.At present,the company's second phase 5000 tons/year basalt continuous fiber production line is also under active preparation.Dai Cunwu introduced that with the continuous progress in the research and development of basalt composites,the cost will gradually decrease and the application field will become wider and wider.Dai Cunwu has been studying continuous basalt fibers for more than 20 years,and it is his dream to turn stone into gold.Now,the product has been successfully applied to the key technologies of domestic carbon fiber and basalt fiber composite conductors and towers.It is reported that Handan Silicon Valley New Materials Co.,Ltd.,which has recently adopted its continuous basalt fiber,will build 40 pultrusion production lines for carbon fiber composite core conductors,12000 kilometers for carbon fiber composite core conductors and 5 kilobases for carbon fibre composite pole towers,and 50 power test lines in different regions of China.The project was listed in the national"863"plan in July 2010,which will end the history of China's dependence on imported high-end cable products.It is understood that continuous basalt fibers are made of natural volcanic eruptive rocks as raw materials,which are crushed and added to the melting furnace,melted at a high temperature of 1450 to 1500 C,and then made into continuous fibers through platinum-rhodium alloy wire-drawing bushing.Continuous basalt fiber as reinforcement can be made into various composite materials with excellent performance,which are widely used in military and civil fields such as fire protection,environmental protection,aerospace,military industry,vehicle and ship manufacturing,engineering plastics,construction and so on.Composite materials made of basalt fibers have natural high strength,corrosion resistance and electrical insulation properties,and are known as green new materials in the 21st century.
